Webinar | Nature's Solutions for Local Government Adaptation to Climate Change

We invite you to the webinar "Nature solutions for local government adaptation to climate change: the Habitat approach", on June 15, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:30 am.

In 2017, professors Jérôme Dupras (UQO), Christian Messier (UQAM and UQO) and Andrew Gonzalez (McGill) founded Habitat, a Montreal-based environmental solutions company. Combining cutting-edge science and technology, Habitat offers its expertise to municipalities, cities and MRCs in the fight against and adaptation to climate change and the conservation of biodiversity on their territory. Backed by its team of multidisciplinary professionals, Habitat draws on cutting-edge knowledge and innovative approaches to meet your specific needs, such as :

  • How can I identify and mitigate heat islands in my area?

  • Which trees should I plant and where, to optimize their benefits and reduce my area's vulnerability?

  • What is the economic and social value of the natural infrastructure of my territory?

  • How can I identify the most suitable nature solutions for my area?

  • How can I plan my territory to contribute to the conservation of biodiversity?

With several mandates carried out at local, regional, national and international levels, and in partnership with a wide variety of players (cities, municipalities, MRCs, NPOs, private companies, etc.), Habitat facilitates the application of science-based approaches in decision-making and land-use planning processes.

Our webinar will be an opportunity for you to learn more about our approaches and the solutions we propose to help you better manage and preserve our natural heritage. The webinar will begin with a 45-minute presentation, followed by a question and answer period.
